(EU) Macron, talking to the Pixies in Ireland …

01/12/2022

Macron's recent visit to Ireland became an excuse to hammer the politicians there to sign up to a so-called 'Global Corporate Tax Rate' of 15%. However, the rate in Ireland, an EU country, is fixed at 12.5% and the reason for that is to attract International businesses to Dublin. There they will spend their Euro's on offices, Guinness, restaurants, more Guinness and airplane tickets in order to boost a lagging economy. 'I am confident, but not putting pressure on you ...' he said, but the Irish replied with a simple 'on yer bike Frenchie!' It looks as if yet another foolish move by the Miniature Macron, desperate to be seen as a 'Tall Figure' in the world of top level politics, has failed dramatically. Better to concentrate on your crumbling tax structure at home M. President, a situation that determinedly sees the rich getting much, much richer and the poor ... left to fend for themselves.
